Biography. Anna Silverton is an established ceramic artist known for her mastery of wheel-thrown porcelain and distinctive meticulous glazing. She exhibits widely at galleries across the UK and at notable art fairs, such as Collect. She has also undertaken public and private architectural commissions internationally.
Anna graduated with an MA in Ceramics from the Royal College of Art. She subsequently lived and worked in New York, where she taught and maintained a studio at Syracuse University. On returning to the UK she established her London studio with the support of a Crafts Council grant. In 2022 she relocated to Ramsgate, Kent, where she now lives and works from her purpose-built studio.
Artist Statement ‘Working exclusively on the potter’s wheel, I stretch and constrain porcelain to create dynamic profiles. The process balances control and risk, where intuitive gesture meets deliberate precision. Each vessel is refined to a quiet smoothness and glazed individually in response to form, surface and silhouette must resonate with each other.’
